A live music scene has evolved over the past few years in Royal Palm Plaza, East Boca Raton’s original outdoor shopping area. On most nights, folks at The Funky Biscuit are dancing to jam bands and rock acts while enjoying a relaxed atmosphere (both indoors and outside) that embodies the tropical spirit of the city. The space the club occupies was a dueling piano bar for many years and was a dinner theatre before that.

Acts who perform at The Funky Biscuit include local Grateful Dead cover bands (Crazy Fingers) national touring acts like Donna the Buffalo, the New Mastersounds & Eric Lindell along with sentimental favorites like Turnstiles, a Billy Joel tribute group. In addition to its intimate atmosphere, The Funky Biscuit boasts phenomenal acoustics, making it a as enjoyable for the musicians as it is for the audience.

Unlike many of the other venues in Boca Raton, or South Florida for that matter, The Funky Biscuit offers a full kitchen serving delicious food late into the night. The menu (much like the music) has a strong New Orleans flair with the Bayou Gumbo and Zydeco Shrimp Po-Boys being particularly noteworthy. They also have excel at hosting unique and creative private events at the club.

Be sure to check their website for a schedule of upcoming music and if you haven’t been there before, it’s’ okay to pull out your tie-dye shirt that’s been resting in the back corner of your closet.
